Melissa - Pilates Instructor
Melissa brings a unique perspective to Pilates, blending over 18 years of experience as a lingerie designer with her passion for movement and health. An avid sewer and enthusiastic dancer, she approaches Pilates with precision, creativity, and a focus on long-term, relatable results. Trained by the esteemed Alan Herdman, Melissa has spent the past eight years working with clients of all backgrounds, from those managing chronic pain to those aiming to enhance their athletic performance. Her teaching emphasises mindful movement, functional strength, and empowering clients to take responsibility for their practice, applying the principles learned in class to improve their daily lives.
With a keen interest in psychology, somatic healing, and homoeopathy, Melissa integrates a holistic approach into her sessions, fostering a deep connection between the mind and body. She believes in creating a safe, supportive, yet challenging space where clients feel in good hands while being encouraged to push their limits, build resilience, and enhance their abilities. While she takes pain and rehabilitation seriously, she also values the power of humour, ensuring that sessions are engaging, enjoyable, and filled with moments of lightness.
At the heart of her teaching is a belief that movement should be sustainable, empowering, and freeing. She is committed to helping clients not just ‘fix’ issues but develop a deeper understanding of their bodies, building confidence and strength for a lifetime of movement.
