Matthew is a Cranial, Paediatric & Structural Osteopath & Pilates Instructor.
Matthew is a dynamic Osteopath who delivers bespoke treatments focused on helping you feel better and empowering you to proactively manage your own symptoms. Growing up, Matthew experienced pains at which point he saw an Osteopath. He found the Osteopathic treatment to be very effective and loved the holistic narrative behind the treatment. The hands on treatment was extremely effective and gave him a thirst to learn more!
However, it wasn’t until his late twenties when he decided to change career paths and retrain as an Osteopath, that his passion for helping others emerged.
His Osteopathic approach focuses on identifying the patient’s functional and training issues which could have contributed to injury. Matthew questions your barriers to recovery and how healing times could be improved. He uses a range of hands-on techniques including muscular stretching, joint articulation and manipulation (only when appropriate and always with consent).
Cranial Osteopathy is a relaxing treatment that uses a subtle hands-on approach that can bring profound results. It works on the principles that gentle manipulation of your joints and tissues can promote overall well-being. Your body can hold physical and emotional trauma in your tissues and cranial sessions can help ease tensions. I am constantly amazed by the body and its healing ability and how small changes can have such a deep impact.
Paediatric Osteopathy is a relaxing treatment experience which can help with unsettled babies, breastfeeding issues & sleeping issues and digestive problems. During treatment, some babies start to relax and sometimes even fall asleep.
As a Pilates Instructor, Matthew believes Pilates align well with the osteopathic narrative to increase postural awareness. Involving exercise rehab with meaningful movements is all important to stay well. The rehabilitation Pilates sessions work well for patients recovering from injuries and surgery to strengthen muscles and increase flexibility. Sessions can pro-actively prevent injuries by increasing body awareness.
