Hypothyroidism Nutritionist

The thyroid is a small butterfly- shaped gland that sits behind and below your Adam’s
apple. It is part of the endocrine system, it releases thyroid hormones and it is a metabolism regulator. It is also involved in skin turn over, wound healing, bone turnover, gut function, cardiovascular system, progesterone and menstrual cycle as every cell in the body has receptors for thyroid hormones. However, a range of factors from hormone imbalances to mineral deficiencies and environmental pollutants can interfere with thyroid production, leading to health problems.
