Why Take Private Pilates Classes?

Private Pilates Classes

Private Pilates Classes can help you to rehab, learn, progress quickly, and maximise the benefits of Pilates. In this article, we discuss how we deliver our private sessions, why we offer them, who they would be good for and hopefully answer some of your questions.

Why try private Pilates?

Pilates is a great way to help you achieve the balanced and functional body you have been striving for. Pilates workouts focus on building overall strength and flexibility leading to reduced pain and injury risk, muscle toning and a better mind-body connection. After continued practice, you will feel like a fully charged battery!

Who Would Benefit From Private Pilates Class?

There are 4 types of people who would benefit from a private pilates instructor. Firstly, Pilates beginners would benefit from individual sessions so they can accelerate their learning and build up their overall strength and flexibility more quickly through one-to-one guidance. Secondly, people who have a specific injury and need a rehabilitation plan as the sessions can be designed for your specific needs to optimise your recovery. Thirdly,  people who maybe don’t feel comfortable in larger group workout sessions and would prefer a more private setting. Forthly, pregnancy Pilates is a fantastic way to keep exercising to support your pregnancy.

Why Private Pilates For Beginners?

In Pilates your posture is always the priority. If you gain the technique correctly from the beginning you will maximise benefits from your sessions. You will progress much quicker and not learn any bad habits! By having bespoke sessions this will help you gain the best results in the shortest possible time. Our instructors will ensure you find the right balance of being challenged but not pushing you too far, too quickly.  We explain more in our beginners reformer pilates London post.

Why 1:1 Pilates For Rehabilitation?

When recovering from injuries it’s possible to re-aggravate an injury, causing further complications which will affect recovery time. All our private classes are designed specifically for the individual and we can help with any injury as part of a well-structured rehab pilates plan. We use specific rehab exercises that strengthen and stretch to optimise injury healing times. You will always have the undivided attention of the pilates instructor guiding you through the exercises. You can read more in our 5 stages of injury rehabilitation article.

No Judgement, No Intimidation, just a relaxing environment.

If you typically feel a little self-conscious when exercising this is lowered by taking a private pilates class. There is no judgment from others if you are not doing the exercises correctly or wearing the right clothes. Your instructor is there to focus on just you, answer your questions and help support you through your class. If you feel like you would like to join semi-private (2:1 or 3:1) sessions after a few sessions that is always a possibility at Wellthy Clinic. Otherwise, you could stay with the private lessons if you prefer the individuality and the results it brings.

Why Private Pilates Sessions?

If you are looking to accelerate your health and well-being, the 1:1 classes are the fastest way to get results. With individual sessions, we can exercise at your level and progress the difficulty as you improve. Private sessions also allow you to develop a rapport with your pilates instructor so they will know when you are having a good day and be pushed a bit further and gain an understanding of what motivates you helping you to gain the best results.

What Results Could I Expect From Private Pilates Sessions?

The benefits will be both mental and physical. With continued practice, you will start to notice yourself feeling taller, stronger, more balanced, more flexible, more connected to your body, more relaxed and more confident.

Would Seniors Benefit?

Yes, at any age you will feel the benefit of attending a pilates class but especially for seniors. You are never too old to start pilates for over 60s, it helps strengthen your muscles, reduces stiffness, increases flexibility, and improves balance and coordination. With Private classes, we can take it at your own pace and tailor the sessions to your needs.

Where Can I Attend Private Pilates Classes Near Me?

Wellthy Clinic is located in Marylebone London, 63 Cavendish St, W1G 7LP near Harley Street. The closest tube stations are Great Portland Street, Oxford Circus and Bond Street all are roughly 7-10 minute walk. You can either book your sessions online or you can give us a call to arrange your private lessons.

Can Couples Attend Private Pilates Classes?

Yes, we do also offer semi private lessons on a 2:1 basis. We understand that some people benefit more from shared common goals and friendly rivalry. We find that couples working together inspire each other and have a greater desire to get results. Likewise, if you don’t have somebody else to share the session that is not a problem. We will open the session and another person will join you. This does not mean you will be performing the same exercises at the same time as you will still have an individualised plan, but you will have someone else to encourage you.

Customer testimonial

“As a complete novice to Pilates, I checked out Pilates on the recommendation of a friend, who said it would help all the various aches and pains that come with a bit of age! A year and a half later, I don’t know what I would do without my weekly session with Eleonora. Without wishing to exaggerate, I can say with absolute certainty, that Eleonora has completely transformed my life – I have no aches and pains at all anymore and it is the first time that I have ever looked forward to going to an exercise class.” - Claudia
